Exchange Waste for Gifts – An Educational Event by MorEco in Partnership with HCM City High School for the Gifted
As part of MorEco’s “For a Green Planet” project, we are honored to once again collaborate with HCM City High School for the Gifted. In this event, students from the high school will collect recyclable waste such as aluminum cans, cardboard, and unused old books to exchange for books, comics, or other materials that serve their entertainment and educational needs.
The “Exchange Waste for Gifts” Event: Meaning and Objectives
On August 11, 2024, the High School for the Gifted, under the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, hosted a meaningful event titled “Exchange Waste for Great Gifts”, in collaboration with the organization MorEco. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental protection, particularly regarding plastic waste. By encouraging students and the community to bring in various plastic waste items in exchange for exciting gifts, the program hoped to inspire a sense of responsibility and contribute to reducing the amount of plastic waste released into the environment.
Event Highlights and Gift Exchange Rules
Throughout the morning, the atmosphere at the school was lively, filled with engaging activities. The plastic waste collection booths were creatively designed, attracting the attention of students. The participants enthusiastically brought in plastic bottles, plastic bags, foam containers, and other items to exchange for meaningful gifts.
The program is divided into three groups:
Group A: If you collect 1kg of recyclable waste, you can exchange it for 1 item corresponding to 1*.
Group B: With 5kg of recyclable waste, you can exchange it for 10 items.
Group C: With 10kg of recyclable waste, you can exchange it for 15 items. With each star accumulated, individuals can exchange for a corresponding number and type of books.
Meaningful Gifts
The gifts that the students received were not just comic books, novels, etc., but also carried a profound educational meaning. Through exchanging waste for gifts, the students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of recycling and protecting the environment.
